Research on humans
Legal provisions on research on humans can be found on several federal acts, the most important being:The competent authorities for research on humans in Switzerland are the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (SFOPH) and Swissmedic.
Non-human research
The federal act on Genetic Engineering has entered into force on January 2004. The new act has influence on various existing regulations and ordinances which are today valid for the handling with GMO.
