What is SystemsX.ch?
The Swiss Initiative in Systems Biology
SystemsX was created to enhance and extend transdiciplinary research. The aim of the initiative is to integrate existing technical and intellectual resources with the appropriate facilities and financial support. A move in this direction started in 2003 as a SUK cooperation initiative among ETH Zurich and the Universities of Basel and Zurich. These institutions launched the development of an internationally leading Systems Biology research initiative. Their hope was that this new field of research would contribute substantially to the wealth of Switzerland’s role in science and innovation. Moreover. Systems Biology will affect various industries, especially those interested in providing new solutions in the areas of preventative, predictive, and personalized (PPP) medicine.
