The brand new multi-purpose production and development site in Lengnau is designed for large-scale biologics manufacturing and has high expansion potential. Upon completion of the construction phase, our Lengnau site will offer highly flexible biomanufacturing technologies, from process development to large-scale production, including stainless steel equipment, to successfully meet our customers' needs.

We are therefore looking for:

Biotechnology Lab Technician.

In this position, you will support the day-to-day operations of the DSP Process Development Laboratory by assisting in the set-up and execution of experiments in the context of technology transfer or process development and/or optimization.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Support the DSP senior scientist in process development and improvement, technology transfer, implementation and optimization of down-scale models for downstream production processes of recombinant proteins.
  • Performing experiments related to the various DSP activities and analyzing samples generated during process development studies
  • Assist the support scientistwith the maintenance of laboratory materials (equipment, logbooks, purchase orders, ...) in collaboration with local and global partners.
  • Support the support scientist by procuring and commissioning laboratory equipment for site development department expansion in collaboration with local and global partners.
  • Writing method and equipment SOPs

Your Profile:

  • Lab Technician Diploma / Bachelor in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology or related field (Uni, ETH or FH).
  • Experience in the analysis of recombinant protein purification techniques: knowledge of antibody purification is an advantage
  • Ability to work independently in compliance with internal work instructions and accurate documentation practices.
  • Customer-oriented thinking and team spirit.
  • Results orientation and ability to set priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Very good written and spoken German and good English skills are required.
  • Very good IT skills (Microsoft Office products), experience with electronic laboratory notebook is a plus.
  • Willingness to work sporadic weekends as needed.
