Job description

Overview

Health Advances is seeking advanced degree and MBA graduates with consulting and/or healthcare industry experience to join its team and rapidly advance into leadership positions. This is an ideal opportunity for a professional passionate about healthcare who can contribute to our growing firm’s international growth.

Our Zug office oversees our work throughout Europe. It is comprised of several collegial and talented professionals eager to grow rapidly as we build our credibility with new European clients and continue to assist US and Asian clients in evaluating European markets (~25% of our project work includes the analysis of European markets).

We want to help qualified candidates become well-rounded healthcare consultants — the future leaders in our business. To achieve that goal, we invest heavily in the career development of our professionals. Each case team leader has a vice president or partner as their formal mentor who provides a tailored skill plan and ensures that there is a clear path to promotion.

Our goal is to ensure that every new case team leader has the skills and desire to grow within the firm and become a member of the Management Team. With projects spanning an average of 4-6 weeks, consultants gain exposure to a variety of project work across many healthcare sectors in a relatively short period of time. The project mix helps develop the well-rounded skills necessary to effectively manage teams, including problem-solving, case-cracking, synthesis, project management, preparing slide decks and communication skills. Furthermore, the consultant is typically interacting directly with clients in the C-suite or EVP level.

We encourage our case team leaders to take an active role in firm leadership through internal committees (examples: business development, market research, and business analytics). When case team leaders join business development committees, they gain exposure to senior management and further their knowledge of Health Advances’ current and prospective client base. With guidance from mentors, team leaders can choose to focus on certain sectors or become more of a generalist.

Travel requirements are typically modest (10-15%).

All interviews are case-oriented and provide the opportunity to work through actual examples of our projects.

  • Build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Synthesize team’s primary and secondary research into persuasive insights for the clients
  • Communicate project status and recommendations to internal client lead

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in strategy consulting and/or the healthcare industry
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively solve complex business problems with minimal oversight
  • Proven leadership, project management, and presentation skills in a corporate setting
  • Exceptional quantitative skills
  • Strong communication skills and well-honed ability to build relationships with both clients and team members
  • Capacity to prioritize and focus time effectively to meet multiple client-driven objectives
  • Knowledge of European healthcare systems
  • Fluency in English and at least 2 other languages, preferably German, French, Spanish, Italian
  • Must have permanent authorization to work in Switzerland
