GlycoEra AG is a start-up biotech company specialized in the development of glycoengineered biologics and based in the biotech hub Schlieren, Switzerland. With our innovative CustomGlycan Platform we aim to unlock the power of glycan-mediated biology to develop novel biologics for a broad range of indications. To support our Management Team, we are currently looking for a

Finance Director, 80-100%

with strong background in controlling and financing. You hold a university degree in business education (CPA, CFA, MBA) and have a minimum of five years of financial experience in small-medium companies, preferably in biotech, pharma and/or MedTech. If you consider yourself a self-starter, fast learner and have a pragmatic and flexible attitude, we are eager to hearing from you!

In close collaboration with the CEO, the Financial Director will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing the financial strategy of the business plan and the funding of the operations
  • Compiling the budget and forecasts in close collaboration with the R&D team
  • Accounting close, financial reporting and audit in cooperation with the external accounting firm
  • Reporting the financial results and plans for the board
  • Implementing an efficient and flexible budgeting and controlling system
  • Controlling the financials
  • Managing the company administration, including employee matters
  • Investigating and finalizing proposals for alternative financing options: debt, grants, etc.
  • Interacting with auditors, regulatory bodies (tax authorities, etc.) and investment banks

You are an eloquent and convincing person who is decision-making oriented, proactive, and motivated to achieve goals with

  • Profound financial expertise in profit and loss management (controlling) and balance sheet structure (financing)
  • Solid know how in US GAAP, IFRS standards, in addition to Swiss CO reporting
  • Knowledge of personnel matters, including social security and pension matters, insurance, incentive plans, etc.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, including administration
  • Expertise in establishing legal contracts and ability to interact at high level with legal counsels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Forward thinker and high sense of anticipation
