About the Role:

The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a rapidly growing formulations team to develop new lipid nanoparticle to support key studies with Anjarium’s novel payloads. The ideal candidate will have experience with formulation optimization, characterization and downstream assays for a variety of novel payloads. The Nanoparticle Delivery Scientist will work closely with other individuals from delivery biology, analytics and platform teams at Anjarium.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Synthesize, optimize and functionally evaluate lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations
  • Perform analytical characterization of LNPs and downstream assays for novel payload
  • Analyze LNP performance and molecular attributes in vitro
  • Work independently and as part of a collaborative team to design, plan, and execute experiments to facilitate in vitro and in vivo evaluation of LNP formulations
  • Develop methodologies to assess LNP quality attributes
  • Utilize design of experiments (DOE) approaches to develop novel LNP formulations

Qualifications and experience:

  • MSc or PhD Degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering or related field with experience in industry.
  • Solid understanding of experimental design and experience with regard to nanoparticle formulation, characterization and functionality
  • Creativity in development of novel nanoparticle assays to probe nanoparticle or payload biodistribution and delivery kinetics
  • Familiarity of intracellular trafficking mechanisms, endocytotic pathways, and assay design relevant to understanding cellular uptake and vesicle trafficking preferred
  • Proven ability to work independently, effectively plan and analyze work activities and prioritize task completion to meet schedules and deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communicator in English
