Job description

To support our discovery team, we are looking for an experienced Research Associate. The successful applicant will play a crucial role in the biophysical and pharmacological characterization of novel biological drug candidates for the treatment of cancer. We are looking for a highly motivated and flexible individual with a passion to work in the collaborative and highly dynamic environment of an innovative Biotech company.

Responsibilities

• Development and implementation of cellular assays for the pharmacological characterization of biomolecules (proliferation, cytotoxicity, reporter cell assays)
• Development of tailor-made assays for the characterization of the mode of action and potency of immune-oncology compounds using cell lines as well as primary cells
• Mammalian expression and purification of antibody-based therapeutics using state of the art chromatography techniques
• Biophysical and biochemical characterization of antibody-based therapeutics (SDS-PAGE, ELISA, chromatography)
• Development and validation of bioanalytical assays for the in vivo pharmacological characterization of antibody-based therapeutics (pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic assays, anti-drug antibody assays)
• Operation and maintenance of laboratory infrastructure, contribution to general lab management and supply

Qualifications

• Completed training as laboratory assistant, or Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or related field
• 3 years+ laboratory experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
• Hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture work, including antibody expression systems, cellular assays, cellular immune-oncology assays
• Hands-on experience with purification, biochemical and biophysical characterization of antibody-based therapeutics
• Experience in the development and validation of bioanalytical assays is a plus
• Independent and self-motivated work style, good organizational and documentation skills
• Good communication skills in German and English
