About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated, creative, and passionate candidate to develop purification processes for the manufacture of Anjarium’s novel and proprietary non-viral gene therapy. Responsibilities will include developing and executing scalable, innovative operations supporting purification process development for complex molecules including nucleic acids and nanoparticles. The successful candidate will be instrumental in further scaling our manufacturing capabilities to advance our disease programs.

Primary responsibilities include:

  •  Independently plan and execute studies related to the recovery and purification of complex molecules and nucleic acid based products to final formulation steps
  • Evaluate the scalability of processes by leading and assisting in lab and pilot scale production
  • Demonstrated capability to design and execute thoughtful experiments and implement innovative DSP solutions as well as troubleshoot them
  • Rigorous documentation of research methods and technical report

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Bioengineering or related field, MSc (4+) or PhD (0+) years of experience directly related downstream processes;
  • A strong background in downstream processing concepts and implementation strategies
  • Hands on experience in chromatographic and/or filtration (i.e. TFF) based separations of biologic molecules required, preferably nucleic acids, viral vectors and/or nanoparticles
  • Familiarity with executing analytical methods used to support biologics or nucleic acid purification process development (e.g. AGE, SDS-PAGE, UV-VIS, WB, etc.)
  • Understanding of fed-batch/perfusion bioreactor upstream operations is preferable but not required
  • Open minded with excellent problem-solving skills, as well as the confidence to work within a fast-paced research field
  • Strong work ethic with capability to work independently and in a collaborative environment
  • Strong written and verbal communicator in English
