About the role:
Anjarium Biosciencesis a privately held, early-stage biotechnology company focused on creating a new class of non-viral gene therapies to deliver more predictable, enduring, and inclusionary ways to tackle genetic disease throughout a patient’s lifetime.

To help reach this goal we are seeking a Senior Scientist, Translational Research to join our team. In this role, you will help bring observations from the laboratory to the patient and vice versa. Working in close collaboration with our scientists, and by using your drug development experience, you will help establish early signs of translational efficacy and safety of our drug candidates. You will play a key role in sourcing external collaborative relationships to expedite projects, including with CROs, industry, or academic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provides scientific leadership in areas of translational science working with multiple cross-functional teams
- Collaborate with our scientists and external experts as appropriate to develop scientifically rigorous translational and exploratory biomarker strategies
- Think creatively and help develop and execute scientific strategies and goals within a project team setting, working seamlessly with internal and external partners
- Support scientific input and review of all translational medicine aspects to development plans, study protocols, study reports, regulatory submissions and responses to any regulatory questions
- Propose and develop innovative methods and technologies as well as new directions for project development

Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry or equivalent experience.
- Expert in one or more drug development domains. E.g., biomarkers, bioanalytics, safety, regulatory science, clinical pharmacology.
- Expert understanding of the preclinical drug development process (experience with early stage clinical development is a plus)
- Skilled at presenting program strategy, issues, mitigation plans and critical steps to peers as well as senior leadership
- Solid understanding of issues specific to the translation of novel therapeutic modalities (experience with gene therapy products is a plus)
- Demonstrated ability to identify where activities may need to be prioritized in order to make improvements
- Has been responsible or accountable for their respective drug development domains in project teams
- Strong written and verbal communicator in English
