To support our Cell Line Development and Characterization group, we are looking for a Technical Associate or Research Associate with profound hands-on experience in Cell Culture. The successful candidate will work in a small team applying the highest quality standards to handle cell banking and cell line engineering requests while adhering to project timelines and will be part of a cell binding platform to screen DARPins based on their binding capacities on previously generated cell lines using advanced multicolor measurement technologies.

This challenging and diverse position will include the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Extensive hands-on experience in in-vitro cell culture techniques (support of cell banking activities)
  • Familiar in generation of stable cell lines by Lentiviral transduction or other state-of the art genome editing  tools like CRISPR-CAS
  • Proficient in performing mammalian cell staining and characterization by multicolor flow cytometry (well acquainted with analysis software like FlowJo and GraphPad Prism), knowledge in cell sorting is a plus
  • Conducting and analysing cell binding experiments using DARPins to support the progression of Molecular Partners immune-oncology projects

For this position, we are looking for a highly motivated individual bringing along:

  • Senior Technical Assistant by training or BSc/MSc in molecular and cellular biology, with +5 plus years’ experience in academic or industry
  • Laboratory experience in cell culture, cell line generation, flow cytometry and immunoassays
  • Routine quality controls of cell lines (QC, mycoplasma test)
  • Assistance with general lab duties like cleanings, refill of consumables and isolating primary cells on an alternating rota system with colleagues
  • Work according to Biosafety Level 2 laboratory rules
  • data presentation within team meetings
  • Work independently and collaboratively as needed to accomplish goals
  • Organize and maintain detailed records of laboratory processes
  • Good communication skills and teamwork mindset
  • An accurate and independent working style
  • Sound oral and written English
