Job description

Supporting in vitro-based characterization of first-in-class immuno-oncology drugs

A central part of this role is the development, execution, and data analysis of in vitro potency and safety assays (e.g. cell killing, cytokine release) to support the selection and characterization of clinical candidates, with a particular focus on primary cells testing. The successful applicant will work in a matrix environment to drive scientific innovation collaboratively with other members of the Pharmacology & Discovery group, as well as with other functions including the Developability profiling group, CMC unit and external collaborators.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop, optimize and conduct cell-based assays focused on characterization of T cell engagers
    - Co-culture assays with primary cells/cancer cell lines
    - T-cell proliferation/activation
    - Cytotoxicity and cytokine induction (LDH, CTG, Incucyte)
  • Execute routine immunological, molecular, and cellular assays
  • Perform ELISAs, cell-based assays, isolation of nucleic acids, and qPCR
  • Analyze experiments using multicolor flow cytometry
  • Independently analyze and present results to a diverse scientific audience
  • Maintain and optimize mammalian cell culture processes

Qualifications:

  • Laboratory Technician/B.Sc./M.Sc. with research experience in the fields of immunology and/or cancer immunotherapy, 2+ years industry experience
  • Required previous experience in conducting cell-based assays and analysis of multiple immune endpoints (cytotoxicity, proliferation, cytokine levels)
  • Experience with primary cells culture preferred
  • Experience with 384 wells co-culture assay setups preferred
  • Experience with flow cytometry
  • Use of analysis software GraphPad Prism
  • Well-organized with an independent and accurate working style, ability to handle multiple tasks in parallel
