The University of Geneva's healthcare management postgraduate programs are hosting the 3rd edition of the HealthCH 2026 Symposium, organized by the Institute of Global Health on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Campus Biotech. HealthCH is intended for healthcare managers, clinicians, students, researchers, and representatives of the private sector involved Swiss healthcare.
The symposium aims to discuss and collaboratively develop solutions and new partnerships to address the challenges facing Swiss healthcare organizations.
The day involves roundtable discussions on the major challenges facing the evolving Swiss healthcare system (see themes below) as well as presentations and interactive masterclasses on specialized topics in operational management.
Our themes for 2026:
Shared Governance
In light of the growing complexity of healthcare organizations, shared governance promotes more collaborative and decentralized decision-making that involves the various stakeholders in the system. This theme explores models of shared governance in Switzerland that strengthen team engagement, improve coordination, and support sustainable organizational transformation.
Multidisciplinary Teams
The quality and continuity of care depend on effective collaboration among professionals with complementary expertise. This theme addresses the strategies for developing interdisciplinary work, strengthening communication across professions, and improving collective performance in the service of patients.
Gender Equity in Healthcare Organizations
Despite a high proportion of women in healthcare professions, inequalities persist in access to leadership roles, recognition, and career opportunities. This theme offers a reflection on the challenges of gender equity and concrete actions to build more inclusive organizations that support the diverse roles of women in leadership positions. Findings from the Swiss Lead(her) study will be shared.
