The Global Village is a platform hosted by the Swiss Biotech Association in partnership with other Swiss organizations who engage in worldwide networking and international collaboration in biotech and life sciences.
The Global Village provides a dedicated offering for national and regional delegations from foreign biotech clusters who wish to develop and strengthen long-term and sustainable business ties and collaborations with various stakeholders of the Swiss biotech ecosystem.
The Global Village platform, however, aims at continuous and sustainable collaboration, concrete action plans for collaboration with impact and collaboration with mutual benefit for all involved.
Since the platform was initiated in 2022 many delegations from North and South America, Asia, Australia, and Europe have engaged in the Global Village and outlined successfully essential steps to move collaborations forward.
Use a multitude of opportunities to engage, from initial offerings to learn about the diversity of the Swiss biotech ecosystem, through partnering and the exploration of collaboration opportunities, to concrete activities and long-term engagements.

at the Swiss Biotech Day in Basel – May 5-6, 2025
The yearly Swiss Biotech Day serves as the anchor event for the Global Village platform. 2024 it attracted over 2,500 participants from 40+ countries.
An effective platform for International delegations
Great visibility and outreach opportunities to other global partners at country or regional booths, on the partnering platform and on-site, as well as at the international networking reception.
Focused opportunities for engagement through tailormade roundtable discussions, marketplace networking and side visits to facilities and stakeholders at biotech hotspots across Switzerland adjacent to the Swiss Biotech Day.
International delegations can actively participate in the Swiss Biotech Day program and thus increase their visibility through pitching and panel discussions.
Follow-ups before and after the Swiss Biotech Day to develop sustainable longer-term engagement plans and meetings at either international BIO conferences or through ad hoc follow-up discussions.
