The [BC]2 Basel Computational Biology Conference is the scientific meeting of the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics. Organized every two years, [BC]2 is Switzerland’s leading event in the domain of Computational Biology and one of the major events of its kind in Europe. The conference brings together around 500 scientists from academia, industry and healthcare working on a broad range of topics: from spatiotemporal gene expression patterns and modelling evolutionary dynamics, to the genetics influencing human health.

The theme of this year’s conference is 'Big data in biology - promises and challenges'. This edition will also mark the conference’s 20th anniversary: a unique opportunity to hear from leading experts about the lessons learned and development forecasts across the topic.

The program features inspiring keynote lectures, thematic tracks highlighting the latest findings around artificial intelligence, precision medicine, protein in 3D, single-cell approaches, immune processes and ecology and evolution, and a special session showcasing successful collaborations between academia and industry. Hands-on workshops and tutorials, poster sessions, and social and networking activities will further allow peers to connect in a friendly atmosphere.
