  • ten23 health aims to reduce plastic waste and is therefore monitoring its current use as well as identifying ways to reduce its future usage.

ten23 health®, a global contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), announced today its partnership with Seven Clean Seas. ten23 health’s ambition is to embed fairness and sustainability (fairstainability) in all its practices and decisions, including the selection of products and raw materials from suppliers who respect sustainable practices.

The company is committed to minimizing waste, particularly plastic waste, and is therefore monitoring its current use of plastic as well as identifying ways to reduce its future usage. Unfortunately, some plastic material waste is currently unavoidable in lab operations and sterile manufacturing (e.g. consumables, disposables) as materials such as tubing and pipette tip caps cannot be re-used in order to avoid cross-contamination. Seven Clean Seas has developed the world`s first plastic-offsetting service, working with its partners to pull plastic out of the ocean on their behalf. ten23 health is partnering with, and supporting, Seven Clean Seas`s mission to reduce its plastic footprint and to offset the impact the company makes on the planet and the oceans.

Tom Peacock-Nazil, CEO of Seven Clean Seas commented: «Our mission is to preserve the marine environment by ridding the ocean of plastic for good. We exist to clean, conserve and educate. Our seas and oceans are the most important ecosystem on Earth. We want to help protect all the wonderful life which call them home. We have committed to recovering over 10,000,000 kilos of plastic by 2025 from the top seven worst plastic polluted countries in the world.»

Prof. Dr. Hanns-Christian Mahler, Chief Enabling Officer (CEO) of ten23 health, commented: «Thanks to this partnership we can contribute to reducing the pollution of our seas and oceans with plastic. Since the possibilities of reducing plastic in lab operations and sterile manufacturing will not allow complete elimination, we are thankful that we can meet our responsibility to preserve our planet through this partnership with Seven Clean Seas.»

About Seven Clean Seas
Seven Clean Seas (SCS) is an ocean clean-up organization based in Singapore. Since inception in 2018, SCS has recovered over 200,000kg of plastic pollution from the marine environment alone and is focusing on infrastructure and technology solutions to stop plastic reaching the ocean. Seven Clean Seas developed the world’s first plastic-offsetting service. In doing so, we help companies reduce their plastic footprint by taking plastic out of the ocean on their behalf. This helps companies neutralise their impact on our planet and seas whilst redirecting funding to develop the infrastructure and projects needed in areas that are most affected.
