Macrogen Europe has expanded the capabilities of its Amsterdam laboratory by introducing DNA and RNA extraction from blood samples, available starting January 2, 2026. This new implementation provides a faster and more accessible option for researchers and biotech partners, including the Swiss biotech community.

Macrogen Europe enhanced its Amsterdam laboratory to include DNA and RNA extraction capabilities from blood samples. This newly implemented workflow will be operational for batches arriving from January 2, 2026.

New Capabilities Implemented in the Amsterdam Lab

  • DNA extraction using DNeasy Blood and Tissue Kits, optimized for blood-derived material.
  • RNA extraction using RNeasy Kits, likewise suited for blood samples.

Sample Requirements

  • A 200 µl PBMC fraction or 5 ml collection tube if whole blood in EDTA tubes is provided. We encourage clients to submit samples in their original collected form to preserve integrity.
  • Samples may be delivered in standard EDTA/blood collection tubes, either fresh or frozen.

With this enhancement, Macrogen now offers a faster and more convenient option for researchers needing high-quality nucleic acid extraction from blood samples—an improvement particularly valuable for Swiss biotech partners.
