Online purchasing option for assay-ready 3D InSight Human Liver Microtissues to help eliminate 3D model development delays for labs ready to resume compound testing and risk assessment

InSphero AG, the pioneer of 3D cell-based assay technology, announced that the company is launching an online R&D Solutions Store to provide a convenient, easy way to order its flagship, assay-ready 3D InSight Human Liver Microtissues, long recognized as the industry gold standard for compound screening and drug risk assessment. Researchers can now purchase everything needed to get started testing compounds at the bench using highly standardized, physiological 3D liver models – with only a few clicks and a credit card. To further help support laboratories reopening after the extended COVID-19 shutdown, InSphero is offering free shipping to Europe and North America for first time orders placed on the online store through September 30, 2020.

For its initial online store offering, InSphero is bundling together Akura 96 plates of 3D InSight Human Liver Microtissues (multi-donor hepatocytes in co-culture with Kupffer cells and liver endothelial cells) with 3D InSight Human Liver Maintenance Media. The cost of a plate of InSphero human liver microtissues is roughly equivalent to that of a frozen vial of hepatocytes and Kupffer cells.

“When we first founded InSphero back in 2009, one of my personal goals was to make our transformative 3D microtissue technology more accessible and affordable for the greater research community,” says InSphero CEO and Co-founder Jan Lichtenberg, PhD. “With the combination of our competitive pricing, unrivaled biological functionality and uniformity, and now the convenience of online ordering with popular secure payment methods, we are opening the door for academics and smaller biotech companies to access our technology which is already in use by many top pharma companies worldwide.”
